Hello Cynthia,
WOW! I love the new washer and dryer. I do NOT want to use them until next week because I have Continental Clean Air coming on Monday.
First of all, I LOVE Lenny... and now Mike too. They are just perfect. Lenny was in the condo unhooking up the old stuff while Mike was outside getting the new goods ready. I did put large beach towels on the floors in case they had grease or anything on their feet... this way there are no hard feelings. You are probably wondering... "grease", what is she talking about.
Okay, now I will tell you. As Lenny took the dryer out, he and I were both in shock. The lent in the coiled vent pipe was melted, broken apart, and stuffed to the gills. YES, I do have them cleaned every few years which is more than I can say for a whole lot of my neighbors who have NEVER had those pipes blown out. I had the super capacity washer and dryer from Maytag. I did purchase it 17 years ago from Douglass Appliance in Danvers because they ALWAYS have a two year warranty for both PARTS AND LABOR. Naturally, that attracts the everyday shopper. Well the closet in the bathroom where our washer and dryers go are tight when you have a washer and dryer as big as my old Maytags. The lent coil was NOT metal it was plastic and it broke apart from the heat and sort of closed up... I imagine that is why it was as clogged as it was. Lenny could of done the work except I need someone that can go up the walls as there is not a crawl space.
Next, Lenny took out my washer and the once white floor... was now brown and gross. I was amazed at how dirty it got. Lenny told me it was grease. I could not believe that the washer was leaking grease. So leave it up to Lenny to clean it for me. I had a vacuum cleaner ready to go but he said a broom would be better. He swept all the dust and other crap out of the closet and I used the dust pan and broom to pick it up.
Next, Lenny asked if I had a little bleach, a pail, and an old rag or two. Not a problem. WOW! It worked wonders. I told him if it took the finish off the high gloss floor... don't worry about it, who is going to see it under these two appliances. They did try the dryer and it appears okay. They did try the washing machine and that too sounds okay... a bit noisy but I will have them take care of that next week when they hopefully bring my new refrigerator here. I am NOT touching them until the vent work is complete.
Lenny and Mike were amazing and I am so glad that the "other guy" (I think Joe) is not here anymore. When he tried to shake down my parents for money on delivery, that was enough for me. Why take advantage of elderly people... my dad and mom. I did not like that and I had a feeling it was not on the up and up. When that happened, Lenny was appalled and shook his head, waved his arms, and walked out the door. He wanted NOTHING to do with that kind of shenanigans. Lenny was and still is a true gentleman as is Mike.
Cynthia, you will never know just how happy my mom and I are to once again come back to Tri-City Sales and purchase more items. My mom LOVES her GE Profile fridge and her Kitchen Aid Dishwasher. You are just simply a true professional. When we walked through the door and saw you... we were thrilled. You are ALWAYS polite, friendly, and certainly knowledgeable... you sure know your stuff. They are so lucky up at Tri-City to have you on board. By the way, I DID email our condo manager at Crowninshield Realty and I also spoke with our maintenance man, Chuck (a Salem Firefighter) about you folks carrying the flat back dryers. The way these condos were built a little over 20 years ago, the dryers were flat back and nobody had a problem. Huh, they do now. As a matter of fact, I will try and find the email that I sent to Jill at Crowninshield so that you are aware of everything and you are not the "last to know." I told my mother that she bought the washer and dryer a week too soon. Now, we just lost two tickets to try and win the TV. Oh rats!
Just FYI, my mom gave both Lenny and Mike $25.00 each as they went above and beyond what anyone else would have done... or not done. I think it was enough for them to go and get a lunch and perhaps a coffee later on.Those guys are worth their weight in gold. Me, I have no more money... I have not had a paycheck for almost two months... nothing. It's a long story and it makes me sick LOL Hopefully by 2012, things may get better.
Cynthia you and the two men have made this shopping trip a most enjoyable experience. I could not be happier. I did call the store today to speak with the manager but he was not in and will be back on Monday. I told the secretary that it is NOT a complaint call but a complimentary call for you and the two guys. So many times people will pick up the phone ASAP and complain about this and complain about that.... mostly annoying stuff. Well, wouldn't it be nice if they could do the same thing when they are as happy and satisfied as my mom and I. You know the old saying... "it is nice to be important, BUT... it is more important to be nice."
Well, I have gabbed your ear off enough however, the guys did measure for the refrigerator. The walls are weird. The height is just great, the depth no problem, but the width is a little shaky. When the guys measured the width for the top... no problem. The middle of the walls from side to side... barely, but it will fit in. Now the bottom is a 1/2 inch too short, however there is a solution. I asked them if we took a piece of the rubber base cove (or cove base, I cannot remember) would it fit and both Lenny and Mike said more than likely. We agreed that it will just make it. I want the GE in bisque so bad. It was the 22 cubic feet one with the filtered water, water cubes and crushed ice. I will keep my egg tray from this fridge. I cannot tell you just how many people I know that buy new refrigerator are not happy about the new models not having a lousy plastic egg tray. Thank God I have one to keep and use in the new fridge. Whatever! I think you remember the one I want H - 67 1/2 W - 33 1/2 D - 31 1/4.
I would of love to of gone with stainless steel, but all my other appliances are in bisque. I am sure I will never replace my stove again... I only use it two or three times a year. As for the dishwasher... almost never. I do put it on a cycle every couple of weeks so the rubber gasket doesn't dry out and crack.
Okay, since I missed out trying for the TV twice already for the first two purchases, can you ring up the fridge on the first available day? Can you believe that I got my CUSTOMER APPRECIATION SALE notice the same day that mom and I came in. When we left to come home... there it was, in the mail. You have all the credit card information and mom and I did okay the sale... not a problem we trust Tri-City 100%. We need a delivery date... hopefully next week but I also want to enter the contest. (oh ya, just like a little kid). LOL
And don't forget to enter me for the TV... oh ya, like I am going to win. HA HA.
Any questions, either email me or call me [number removed]... anytime... any day.
Once again... a GREAT BIG THANK YOU FOR BEING SO NICE and yes, I am requesting Lenny and Mike for delivery... I love those guys.
With grateful appreciation,
Debbie L. of Peabody, Massachusetts ...... a very happy customer
